Mobile operator Mobiuz has launched more than 400 new 4G LTE base stations online across Tashkent and the Tashkent region - the latest chapter in its network expansion nationwide.

This is the newest installment in the company's series on technical development across Uzbekistan. Earlier reports on the Fergana Valley, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and the Khorezm region are available at pr.mobi.uz.

Record Internet Traffic

In the first six months of 2026, Mobiuz subscribers in the city of Tashkent and the wider Tashkent region used 186.6 million gigabytes of data.

To put that in perspective: it is enough to stream 26.6 million hours in 4K - or to hold a single, uninterrupted video call lasting 21,000 years.

A few years ago, numbers like these would have sounded far-fetched. Yet demand for data keeps climbing, year after year.

More Places With Reliable Coverage

In the first half of 2026, more than 400 new LTE base stations were launched in Tashkent and the Tashkent region.

In the capital, coverage has improved in the Kuyluk, Sergeli, Chilanzar, Ibn Sino, Karasu, TTZ, Yunusabad, Olympia, and Karakamish neighborhoods, along with dozens of other locations. Particular attention went to socially significant sites - including the Republican Research Center of Emergency Medicine, the International Airport, the Bekto'pi, Eski Juva, and Mirobod Dehqon Bozori markets, the Tashkent Index Industrial Business Park, the Chilonzor shopping center, and the Chig'atoy shopping and entertainment center.

Modernization Results

The Tashkent region has priorities of its own. In the second half of 2025, a full network modernization - a SWAP project - was carried out across a number of the region's districts and cities, lifting their throughput by 90%.

That work continued into the first half of 2026 with further upgrades to voice and internet quality. The result: over the first six months of the year, the internet traffic used by subscribers rose by an average of 28.5%.

New base stations have gone up not only in the region's cities and districts but also at popular tourist destinations such as Khojikent, Khumsan, Gazalkent, Burchmulla, Sidjak, and Beldersay.

Attention for Every Region

Subscribers rarely see how a network is built and expanded. But they feel it - video loads faster, voices come through clearer, and the connection holds in places where it used to falter.

That is the point of the work Mobiuz's engineers are doing across every region of Uzbekistan.
